a civil marriage
ceremony

On the day of Solemnisation
You and your guests are advised to be punctual, and arrive at the marriage venue at least 15 minutes before appointed time. This should allow you and your guests to settle in before the solemnisation ceremony starts.

Two witnesses above the age of 21 whose names you have submitted/updated must be present for solemnisation.

If your marriage is at ROM, we will appreciate it if you will let us serve you and other marrying couples on time by arriving at least 15 minutes ahead of solemnisation time; and understanding that only civil ceremony and ROM's standard solemnisation version of vows may take place/be used in the solemnisation suite. We would also appreciate your helping us keep ROM pleasant and clean for all marrying couples by not showering things such as flowers, rice, confetti, etc. If your arrival is beyond 30 minutes of scheduled appointment, a fee may be payable for change of time.

If your marriage is outside ROM, remember that your Solemniser is appointed by the Minister and that he/she is a Community Leader who volunteers his/her time and service. He/She receives neither salary nor an honorarium from the registry. We therefore advise that:

Solemnisation starts punctually as scheduled. If for any reason your solemnisation is delayed beyond 30 minutes without notice, your Solemniser may leave the marriage venue. Under such circumstances, you will need to e-Change a new solemnisation date. A fee is payable. If your new solemnisation date is after expiration of 3 months of notice filed, you will need to submit a new application, ie e-File a new notice of marriage

You and your family accord your Solemniser the same courtesy as you would your specially invited guests

You reimburse your Solemniser for transport costs incurred to officiate at your wedding. The reimbursement guideline is $28 to $48. Your Solemniser may opt to donate such transport reimbursement to charity
